At the rising of the sun and at its going down We remember them. At the blowing of the wind and in the chill of winter We remember them. At the opening of the buds and in the rebirth of spring We remember them. At the blueness of the skies and in the warmth of summer We remember them. At the rustling of the leaves and in the beauty of autumn We remember them. At the beginning of the year and when it ends We remember them. As long as we live, they too will live; for they are now a part of us as we remember them. When we are weary and in need of strength We remember them. When we are lost and sick at heart We remember them. When we have joy we crave to share We remember them. When we have decisions that are difficult to make We remember them. When we have achievements that are based on theirs We remember them. As long as we live, they too will live; for they are now a part of us as we remember them.

Danny, I would like to say THANK YOU, for your contributions to our community! From your service to the BLACK RODEO COMMUNITY as a “Rodeo Clown;” your military service-it was an HONOR serving with you in the US Army Reserves (95th Division Headquarters Company); your service to our youth-Guthrie Job Corps; and your dedication to your family. I was happy to see you when I ran into you over at the VA Hospital (I was waking out and you were going in)! Despite it all, you kept fighting! Take your rest now, Sarge!!! We’ll take it from here!!!

Our deepest sympathy to the Family of Danny Bates. Praying for comfort during this time of sorrow. Danny ( Cowboy/ Danny Boy) will truly be missed in his hometown of Paris especially Gray Rock Arkansas. Danny was Danny but he was always willing to lend a helping hand . Danny made calls on a regular basis to ask , how is everybody doing in Gray Rock. He was known as Danny Claus when he dressed like Santa in his younger days. When a Veteran passed away Danny would dress in his Military uniform for the Service. Prayers and Comfort again for the Family.

Losing someone who meant so much to your family is never easy. This week, our hearts are especially heavy as we remember a dear friend who was there for us from the very beginning. When we first moved into the area, everything felt new and unfamiliar. In the middle of all that change, he showed up for us in the most genuine and generous way. He helped us get settled, answered our questions, and made sure we felt welcome. What could have been a stressful and lonely transition became something warm and meaningful because of him. He didn’t just help us once and move on, he checked on us every single day. A quick visit, a call, a wave from across the way, he made it known that we weren’t alone. That kind of consistency, that kind of care, is rare. He became more than a neighbor; he became family. He celebrated birthdays with us, always making the day feel special. Whether it was a simple “happy birthday” or stopping by to share in the moment, he showed up. Those small acts of kindness built memories that we will forever treasure. Even after he moved to Oklahoma, the impact he made here never faded. We are deeply saddened by his passing, but we are also incredibly grateful. Grateful that our paths crossed. Grateful for his generosity. Grateful for the love he showed our family. He will always hold a special place in our hearts. 💛
